I’ve always had a certain fascination with money.
Thankfully, my parents prepared me early and taught me the value of a dollar at a very young age.
They also taught me how to earn, save, and spend responsibly…yet I still struggled along the way. I had to learn my own lessons with credit cards, debt, overspending, and under-earning.
I found it interesting that, even with a solid financial foundation, I didn’t always make the best choices.
This fascination led me to a career in the Financial Services industry and, ultimately, helped me find my calling as a Financial Recovery Counselor and Wealth Empowerment Coach.
My first corporate finance job was at Bank of America Investment Services in 2006, not long before the U.S. economy was turned upside down.
The next few years were a rough time for everyone and I saw how important it is to have your finances in order.
I did everything I could to get back on track with my own money.
In 2010, after some serious bumps and bruises, Bank of America merged with Merrill Lynch. This is where I spent the next several years building my career.
I put a ton of energy into my career and I learned a lot along the way.
I was consistently awarded the #3 position in the company, out of over 6,200 Registered Client Associates.
I managed Service and Operations on a team that specialized in Wealth Management and Relationship Development.
Together, we managed over a quarter of a billion dollars in assets and maintained lasting relationships with hundreds of families.
I was also registered and licensed with the Financial Industries Regulatory Authority (FINRA), which is overseen by the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC). I held a Series 7 License (General Securities Representative) and Series 66 License (Uniform Combined State Law).
On paper, I was doing very well, but…something was missing.
At the time, I had never even heard of a Financial Counselor.
But I could feel myself being pulled in a different direction and I knew I wanted something more.
I wanted to work with people who were looking to improve their finances, but didn’t know how to get started.
I wanted to help.
People were struggling and I knew I had the answers.
I had to share them.
I knew that my knowledge, skills, and intuition could really make a difference and that I could have a huge impact on people’s lives.
I felt inspired to connect with people and provide a service that would be more helpful and meaningful.
Which is why I instantly fell in love with this work.
As soon as I discovered the world of Financial Counseling, I jumped in with both feet, and I’ve never looked back.
My personal experience and financial background allow me to provide the knowledge, tools, tips, tricks, mindset and support you need to finally reach your goals.
